Hi there,
It would have been better if you bought the body kit, because face kits are usually gentler and might not work on the body. it all depends on how your skin will react, I hope it works.
It has good results, but please be careful not to overuse it. Don't apply the abrading cream more often than the instructions, cause it may cause you irritations and even worse scars.
If you use it right, in 2 months your arms will look decent.
Hope this helps.

What color is you skin? If you have really dark skin, there is a chance your scar will become darker. but be well informed. if the scar is deep, microdermabrasion will do absolutely nothing against it. laser works better in these cases. microderma works only on the upper skin layers, thus making only superficial skin imperfections less visible.
Talk to the doctor, he will analyze your skin and tell what the best solution for you can be.
good luck.

Check with a trained dermatologist to find out the root cause of your acne. He may have other acne treatments based on your acne type. You should consider acne laser surgery only as a last resort and for most severe acne cases. If you really going for this surgery, it should be only a part of your acne treatment program. This intense laser beam will destroy the existing infect and stimulate blood flow again, which will aid the tissue in repairing the damaged cells and skin. Some people have little or no results from laser acne surgery and may be left with uneven skin pigmentation.

Acne sufferers can be left with several different types of scarring as a result of sever acne. The scars are typically defined by their various shapes, box shaped, concave or ice pick in nature. Each of these various shapes of scars may also vary in intensity and some of them may be quite deep. Fortunately, there is a acne scars treatment for deep acne scars that has helped many people.

There are actually two different options that you should try in order to get rid of the deep acne scars. If your skin is damaged, you may be able to use a topical cream in order to help to smooth and heal the affected area.

Depending on the depth of the scars and the amount of time that you have had the problem, you may have to use a different type of cream or use or frequently.

Medicated creams, such as those found at the drugstore or through the use of a prescription have helped many people with deep acne scars to be able to smooth out the skin on their face. Some people, however, would rather take a more natural approach.

Skin creams are also available for acne scarring that are natural and organic. You can either make these from a recipe or you can purchase them through various health store outlets. These have been effective in helping many people, according to a variety of testimonials that are available from former users. You may be able to take advantage of this natural form of acne cream without requiring something that is more invasive.

If all else fails, there are always surgical procedures that are available as a treatment for deep acne scar. These would include such things as dermabrasion, chemical peels or even laser surgery. Your dermatologist will be able to help guide you through the decision process as some of these procedures may work.

I would try an at home microdermabrasion kit that can be used more often. Blue and red lights can do wonders for deep acne scars. If their deep I doubt Proactiv would do much for you. I use the lights and a scar cream at night. My scars have gotten alot better. Good luck! 1

I am a Medical Laser Practioner and I have to be honest. I think that Micodermabrasion or full Chemical Peel will give you better results.

If you have 10 - 12 days to stay indoors while you heal, go with a full 100% TCA Chemical Peel but only from a very experienced technician ... preferably a dermatologist.

Laser can not properly remove wrinkles and maintain tone consistancy to the entire treated region unless, just that, the entire region is treated.

Treating only the wrinkles with a laser will give you uneven skin tones and if you are 31 and worried about wrinkles now, you are really going to be concerned with the uneven skin tones.

You can get 3 or 4 Microdermabrasion Treatments for the price of one laser treatment and your overall appearance, including reducing the fine lines will benefit.

EDIT:

For those who had Laser Hair Removal and it grew back, that is impossible if a full treatment was completed.

Not just maybe ... it is virtually impossible.

Laser Hair Removal transfer the Laser through the hair and into the follicle where the laser is reflected off the hair root causing thermal, non visible injury which results in scar tissue whch blocks the production of hair.

So the only way for it to grow back would be to get inside each follicle and remove the scar tissue.

New hairs are possible ... properly treated hairs coming back are impossible.

EDIT2:

Microdermabrasion will also clean out those pores and reduce pore size by reducing the outer layers of skin the depth as well as the width of the pores is reduced.

check out this link:
http://www.infoplasticsurgery.com/bodycontouring/stretchmarks.html

Once stretch marks occur, they are permanent.
(frustating? yeah....i agree)

Beware of Laser Removal of Stretch Marks
Although some physicians claim that lasers are effective in removing stretch marks, there is no evidence to support this. Most plastic surgeons think that lasers are ineffective in treating this problem.

Lasers are effective in removing, vaporizing, and breaking down tissues. They do not generally repair tissues. Stretch marks represent torn tissue. Hence, improvement should not be expected from laser treatment. Moreover, clinical studies have shown no improvement in stretch marks after laser treatment.

1. Moisturizers and creams. Cocoa butter or anything containing vitamin E is good.

2. Alpha hydroxy acids to exfoliate the skin, soften the skin, and improved elasticity.

3. Tretinoin or Retin-A. This compound loosens the keratin in the outer skin layers and helps to exfoliate dead skin cells.

4. Surgery to remove the affected skin. A tummy tuck is one example when surgery removes stretch marks

Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently.

Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.

Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Aspirin is acete salicylic acid, chemically related to salicylic acid. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.

Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.

More and more people are looking for natural and holistic ways to heal scars from acne, chicken pox, injury or surgery. While some topical creams and medical procedures such as dermabrasion and laser resurfacing may lessen the appearance of scarring, they are often very costly and harmful to the skin.

Natural treatments such as herbal remedies are less invasive and gentle to use on the skin. Herbs such as Galium aperine (Cleavers) and Trifolium pratense (red clover) have a wide range of therapeutic benefits that act as a cleansing tonic, blood purifier and lymphatic cleanser.

Homeopathic ingredients such as Natrium muriaticum, Kalium muriaticum and Kalium sulphate help to maintain skin health and support the regenerative processes of the skin.

Herbal ingredients such as Tea Tree Oil & Neem contain antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties and are not only effective for acne but for other skin conditions too. Other herbs such as Rooibos and Bulbine frutescence (a South African herb) have wonderful antioxidant and healing properties and also help to prevent skin infection and provide ongoing relief. In addition, Lavender essential oil acts as a circulatory stimulant and antiseptic, and is used to treat burns and wounds and to prevent scarring.

It's so nice of you to want to buy your Mom a good anti-aging/anti wrinkle cream.

I think buying a cream or surface treatment is so much better than getting surgery or using Botox.

When I select my anti-aging products, I tend to look for a few things:

1) are there proven results?
2) can I get a trial or sample (so I know it will work before I spend a lot of money)
3) are the results as good as Botox or even better? (I want to get really great results without the pain or hassle)
4) decide what you want to focus on treating (age spots, wrinkles, sagginess- or all of the above)
5) decide how often you want to apply the treatment and how long it should take (I don't like to sit around for hours- I want something I can use quickly and then get on with the rest of my day)

Go get them plucked. Or you could do it at home yourself. It's what I do. =) It hurts at first, but you get over it. lol

PLUS! Bushy eyebrows are kinda "in". I don't mean big hairy man brows, just fuller shaped brows. =)

Look in magazines for ideas and such. Good luck!

Waxing doesn't neccissarily RUIN your skin, it just makes it a little tougher where you wax, which is actually a good thing because if you start waxing regularly, it won't hurt as bad. You could use Nair so you don't get a unibrow, and you could tweeze the hairs so you can have sculpted brows. But I would keep asking your mom if you could get your eyebrows waxed if you really want to.

try plucking them.. its a little mor time consuming, but it works just as well.. its a little painful [especially your first time] but if you tweeze you can shape them however you want and as often as you need to.. tweezers are really cheap and you only have to pay for them once.. good luck!

I'm not sure if waxing "ruins" your skin but it could cause irritation and breakouts... You could try to use a pair of tweezers and just pull out the stray hairs between the middle of your brows and try to shape them up a little bit.

How does she feel about threading? It is very gentle, lasts longer and is quite a natural process. You can usually find a kiosk in the mall where they do it.
